finger rule for times tables under ten!?!

On wednesday i went to my early level three group, i learnt the most amazing trick for times tables for example 7x6, you would your hands out in front of you, put down your seventh finger down and look to the right and count them, you should have six fingers on the right and three on the left so its sixtythree!?!

  1. Hi Louie. I like your information of how you do it. Your blog reminds me of how hard it is to do 7 times tables. I think that you could of checked your work a bit better. How long did it take you to master that strategy.

  2. Kia ora Louie, this strategy only works for the 9 x tables - so far as I know. So if it was 7x9 then you put down your 7th finger and it equals 63.
