 on the sixteenth of november we had kapa haka,the hole of the school did it in separate groups and all of them were recorded in the hall but all were different songs...

etu!we stood up and started to sing our first song u tai na mai na waka.. after about a minute of singing we started our haka,a u tai na mai na ma hi!a u tai na mai na ma hi! my chest is throbbing from the pain of me slapping my chest furiously.

stomp!stomp!stomp!stomp!as we look left and right like warriors marching forward we sing some more of our haka until we finish we sing our last song and celebrate 

as I high five friends I feel glad and happy with my self.but i still can't wait for the embarrassment of the video

FIRSTLY

we sat down and the first characters they were three cray fish one called nanny koura, moko(the grandson) and his brother, and a kina.they were telling the nanny's story to the young koura(cray fish)as they went to hit the hay.But the n one of the moko asked for one more story kina said they can hear how kina got there spikes but nanny said no until she said they could listen to how she saved earth from the aliens.and that's how it all started

the first sat down but the second koura was gone (probably to fill in for another character),and then it started.she first said that she yous't to be popular and she made friends at the skatepark and they littered a lot until aliens came down and started dumping lots of heavy and toxic trash in their bowl and also a working robot that they had only used for a month so they threw it away two, until they found it and got upset when they tried moving the rubbish but then it electrified them and they all became very sceptical of the rubish until...

NEXT

the robot stood up and started saying things, and also he is scared of the word recycle so that helps a lot.they asked the robot to call the aliens so they could take their rubbish back. so when they called they the first thing that went on was baby shark,and then big and chunky and then cocomellon and finally dora the explorer and the rad skater boys were dancing to it until they finally came down and declared that they would not take it and put more trash.

enviro day

 Tuesday,28th of september.

Bang! the door of the class shuts, me and kobi run to the hall for powhiri, we hear the faint sound of singing we think were late, "whew" I say there just rehearsing for the songs i jump into he front row and join in,(for the purpose of the actual story i am going to cut it short)in short we sung the three songs let the visitors talk we walk into class line up and start walking.

Clank, the gate swings open and hits the thick wooden post, woah I slip on the slippery mud and walk down the slope.When we get down there we start walking through the stream to the other side when it came to my turn I see a vertical plank i walk a cross and leap to the other side of the stream as i walk up the hill i hear a splash followed by a tsunami of laughs and cheers,i turn around tre was in the river scrambling out with is soaked figure of laughs.Five minutes later rio tried to throw lola's bag over when it hit her leg and lost momentum making it fall in the awa.

Squalch!?! I step in to the deep never ending colour of brown I try to take my shoe out unfortunately it got stuck. And then my shoe became so heavy from this clay that I went from one of the front people to the very back.Ten minutes later we made it to our resting place under the purere tree.After we finished eating we lined up and kept walking.I yawn, i'm tired I muttered as i walk the people beside me are talking about tennis I ignore them.Finally we arrive at the end I take a glance at my shoe's and think to my self hello washing machine.

mangaone time art

 This week and last week we have been starting a art project that we call mangaone time art, First we had to split the paper into three parts(past, present, future).It is so much fun having the choice of what the future should look like to us and drawing the present and past as we want.I have a big kowhai going across the front of the page with a big bright tui that stays the same in all sections.Over all it's so much fun and i think we should do more art like this. 

cross country (this time not practise)

 hi my name is louie and today on wednesday 15-9 we had our official 2k run full of stitches and crampes, ankle twists and tumbles so join me on my epic post(by the way its not that epic) 

bang! i close the door of the car and start bouncing my hand ball as i slowly pace to the class my heart beating one million beats a second i see kobi,I arrive at the class put our bags down and head to the court to play with the ball we find it hard to play because there is a game of line tag happening on the court two so we decide to go on the other court a.k.a the handball court I don't know why we didn't go there in the first but anyway, we were there for about 25 seconds minus 24 seconds until we got bombarded of kids who thought we were playing dodgeball, 2 minutes later we were summoned back to class by the bell.

I feel nervous as i line up, the other kids are so loud I block my ears as if they were elephants and i was the tiny mouse.We start walking down the deck and onto the flat grey concrete.Finally we arrive at the course, the yr6 girls line up in a orderly fashion and the yr6 boys made the messiest line they can, ready! set! go!!! we all sprint to the first bollards it reminds me of how neko tripped on them when he tried jumping them,"not gonna make that mistake" i say to my self i run past the second pair of bollards and find my self  behind oscar joe, oh no i'm in the field of view for the spectators(the other kids, we are in level two) as time go's on i find my self going past three more bollards, I finish the first lap another lap goes on and i cross the finish line right behind kobi.

i come some where in between 5th and 10th, i'm happy but even more happy for the ice cream we get later.

te tapuae o rongokako,marine reserve snorkling trip 2019

Once upon a time my class went to te tapuae o rongokako marine reserve to have a snorkle.it's a beautful place i recomend you going someday.Anyway let's get on with the story,it all started one sunny day at wainui beach school,"amber can you open the door and tell the parents to come in now"said koka rozie,"yup"amber said,"parents you all have to come in rite now!"said amber (parents chuckled about ambers rude ness) the teacher told us whos cars we go in,i went in jacksons wilsons car it took about 10-15 minutes to get there.



when we got out of the car we walked on the rough stoney gravel it felt like too me when we got onto the grass we met joe emma and willow (willow is emma's baby)(emma and joe  for a matter of a fact are actully brother are sister).They told us about the equitment and hand signals(at the bottom of the page there will be some pictures of the hand signals and some information about the signals and information about the aquitment). 
Next we got into our wetsuits we had to have long wetsuits so we won't get cold for quite a while,if you didn't have long wet suit or no wetsuit at all you had to borrow a wetsuit once we got our wet suit on we had to get our snorklel and flippers on if we didn't have a snorkel or flippers or both we had to pay $six dollars.



after that we took off our flippers and started walking down to the beach we had to turn left to find clear enough water to snorkel.my group was:finn neve me(of course) and silkie our parent,neve and finn left like strait away to the beach so it was just me and silkie we had so much fun we saw:kina poa crayfish

google meets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this week as you may know we are in lockdown 2.0 so this means we need to use google meets and to a google meet there is a good side and a bad side, the good side is that we have the capability to call 49 people at max at a time anywhere any how and the bad side is there's no way to physically ask and talk to a mate about what your supposed to do instead you have to either type and by the time your finished typing there on a new subject or you un mute and the teacher doesn't here you so you end up being in a big pickle.

I like google meets not like like but just like, as I told you in the last paragraph there are ups and downs or evens and odds if you will and i think it's pretty unique that a 10 year old like me can experience things like this for the very first time in the history of the world.Jesse when you put it that way that's real cool so in short see yah.

The woods

 In the deep dark woods wondering around you can hear a peculiar sound almost a cry ,legend has it people who follow it never come back, but the freakiest thing is you can only hear it on a blood moon, no one knows why cause no one comes back...

It has been only two years since louis de von a french paranormalist disappeared from the woods and since then no one has visited the woods ghostly visitor, but that's were I come in.I am going go to the woods cause tonight is the blood moon.

Nervous.Nervous is the only way to describe my feelings, i pack my bag get my torch and race the door when some one behind me yells out ''were do you think you going you know it's a blood moon'', ''noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!''

clay molding in ltp

 On monday and tuesday we were starting up our ltp in room two when our teacher koka rozie told our class that we were doing all the regular things like blocks and art and then she said oh I almost forgot we got clay(LIKE IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL!!!!!)yeah as you couldn't tell I was very excited so like everyone else I rushed to the tarp with the clay balls.

When i first got one I had no idea what to make so i looked around i saw kids making knives, cups and bowls, so i thought i would make a cup and it turns out that was a terrible idea so i made a pencil holder in the shape of a face and guess what i was called a copycat because another boy made a face that looked like mine.😱

DAY 2

Day two i was going to keep on going with my first one by wetting so it wasn't dry but someone smashed it, so i had to make another one that worked better and had less cracks. I was a little annoyed one having it cracked and two. copycat.  the name i was called once more (man I was annoyed about that, that was the last name i wanted to be called).

Sooooo yeah after that we tidyed up and finished.

olympic booklet

 This week we have been starting a task about the olympics called the olympic booklet.Its basically about 30 pages of fun surprises squashed up in thirty pages of pain (come to think of it, saying it like makes it sound like a bad thing, even though its fun) 

At first we had no idea about it until some of us saw it on the checkoff so like most people we went to ask about it and like a lot of answers it was we will talk about it after lunch and yeah I don't have very much to say about it.

L...T...P!!!!

 hi my name is louie and last night at school we had ltp it means learning through play.

 anyway i started off by grabbing a rubber frisbee and joining in with troys game, basically he had this wall that you ran at and jumped of it and threw your frisbee through a tier and in a bucket in mid air and then land on the platform I got it most of the time sometimes i didn't though.

next i went and played on the field with felix, it was like a scoring game, in short we found a mow line, made it a marker to stand at and throw the frisbee into the soccer goal, the person in the goal had to stp it from hitting the net if it hit the net the scorer and the goal keeper swap over.

workshops 2021

This year we are doing this thing called workshops, sooooo basically they are math groups or reading groups  and, you get the point, so they're learning groups where we intend to to learn new things.  We have them on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays but not Fridays.  Murder Mystery Maths (also known as triple m maths) is my favourite, I assure you its not as harsh as it sounds, we have to crack math clues to find the person who did the crime.   

My favourite work shop is Murder Mystery Maths because you have to mirror things to find a shape and each shape is a letter and if you do all parts of that clue it makes a sentence or like you had to use clocks to find a letter so if it was 3 minutes past twelve it would be the letter c.  

finger rule for times tables under ten!?!

 On wednesday i went to my early level three group, i learnt the most amazing trick for times tables for example 7x6, you would your hands out in front of you, put down your seventh finger down and look to the right and count them,you should have six fingers on the right and three on the left so its sixtythree!?!

I think camp was sick my favourite part was panekiri bluff walk camp camp is something wainui school does for the year 6 students.

Hamanatua - back to school - 2021

 I grab my bag and line up with every one else.  I look behind me to find none the less but the other classes from my syndicate we stand up and start to walk towards the court, it's hot outside I feel like I am on a motor bike going though the worlds longest ring of fire in slow-mo.  I couldn't sit down properly so I just squatted down at the back of the line, I felt a bit embarrassed not being like everyone else sitting down folded legs and arms I look at the teachers  it seems like they have all looked at me once with Koka Ngaire's grumpy cat stare.Finally we all stand up and I feel a little bit less alien like, once again juniors go first in line. we start walking out the gate and then on the crossing I decide to go at the back with koka ngaire since I have a cast on.Once we were further into the walk I couldn't help but notice that people are starting to get a bit silly and pushy in the line but I decided to just carry on with things.

Finally at the front of the line I can see the juniors turning to walk on the beach it looks like a line of rally cars drifting onto another road I ask koka ngaire are they walking on the beach I don't think she heard me but I infer that that is what they are doing. since I have a cast I can't go onto the beach  so we go over the bridge, next to us we see concrete workers making a new under pass next to the trees and bridge, we keep on walking up and over the bridge under we see the very brown but glossy and shiny surface of hamanatua It seems like I am looking at a big screen at the wrong angle so i'm getting all of the glare in my eyes.I look down and see the ripples it reminds of the group of friends that gather rocks and stoney pebbles only to drop them into the river of Hamanatua, a massive logging truck goes by it seems to be the size of a navy ship it almost scared me.

Now we are started to head down the slope and into the front section of the wainui surf club I was nearly allowed to go on the lifeguard tower but then she saw the seats under-neath and asked if I could get down there I said yes but in truth i did want to go up top any way I sat down with out any disturbance for about five minutes wait make that one minute when I was invaded by girls.I was watching my friends hoping that one of them would save me like they said ( I was literally told by my best friend that he should meet me and he didn't he looked waved and kept going) finally my friend oscar joe came to talk with me for a while i was a bit annoyed with the fact that it was only game talk but at that stage I was desperate for even my brother and I had never wanted him that bad.
